Dr. Tang is an assistant professor in the department of energy, environmental and chemical engineering at Washington University  (2008~present). From 2004 to 2008, Dr. Tang worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California-Berkeley. His research interests are in metabolism analysis and metabolic engineering of environmental microorganisms. His current project is to engineer E.coli and cyanobacterial species to convert waste carbon substrates to biofuel.
